Kaspersky Business Space Security 6.0 Release 2 has won a comparative test conducted by Cascadia Labs. The test was designed to demonstrate how well security products meet the requirements of the corporate market.

Specifically, solutions were tested for their ability to meet the requirements of small and medium-sized businesses. Criteria used included the level of protection provided to end users, impact on system performance, ease of installation, ease of administration, support for security policies and ease of integration with the enterprise’s IT infrastructure. Testing participants included six popular solutions designed to protect end users on corporate networks, including the updated version of Kaspersky Business Space Security 6.0. For testing, each solution was installed on a test network consisting of a dedicated server running under Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and workstations running under Windows XP and Windows 7.

Kaspersky Business Space Security 6.0 Release 2 demonstrated the best overall result, getting the highest score of all participating products in four categories out of five: Performance, Installation & Configuration, Effectiveness, and Policies & Management. According to Cascadia Labs experts, the updated version of Kaspersky Business Space Security 6.0 is a nice choice for companies of all sizes, since it is easy to install even on a large network, is fast, provides excellent protection against Web threats and includes a solid management system. The test lab’s independent experts emphasized that among the participating solutions Kaspersky Business Space Security 6.0 Release 2 provides the best integration with Windows Active Directory, making the product’s installation and configuration significantly easier and providing excellent flexibility in defining group security policies.

The product earned top marks for performance, demonstrating minimal impact on the time required to reboot the computer or open large files, as well as high-speed scanning capabilities. It also showed a much larger improvement in performance than competitor products in a second on-demand scan. Cascadia Labs experts were impressed by the extensive set of features offered by the updated version of Kaspersky Business Space Security, including signature-based and proactive protection that provided the highest level of Internet threat detection of all the products tested.
